21 Savage has confronted Adin Ross after reports that the streamer paid Playboi Carti $2 million for a brief cameo on one of his livestreams. The rapper appeared on Ross’ ‘Kick’ stream shortly after Carti and Travis Scott’s performance at the 2024 Grammy Awards on February 4, 2024.
Carti entered sporting a black mask that Kanye West had given him. The streamer then pulled out a duffel bag stuffed with cash and delivered it to the rapper, who hugged Adin Ross. Even though he was paid well, the rapper remained silent and stayed for roughly six minutes before leaving for the studio.
21 Savage, who had made a controversial visit on Adin Ross’ stream, called him to ask questions regarding the money that Playboi Carti had received. A puzzled 21 Savage questioned: “$2 million, bro? Why the f*ck you ain’t pay me, bro? That’s crazy, bro. I ain’t gonna lie, bro, that’s f*cked up, bro.”
Ross replied: “Brother! I was gonna buy you cars and sh*t. What the f*ck do you mean?”
Savage said: “$2 million for six minutes, bro? You paid for six minutes,” but the streamer continued to deny that Carti was paid for his appearance, to which 21 said: “I just seen you give him a bag of cash.”
The rapper wasn’t having it when the streamer attempted to persuade 21 that they would make money together and said: “Bro, we gotta have a talk when I see you.”
After the two started playing cards for money, 21 Savage’s appearance on Adin Ross’ stream last week sparked a lot of internet outrage. The rapper was seen using what seemed to be marked cards, and it was said that he attempted to con Ross out of $120,000 over a high-stakes dice game.
The rapper was spotted by Ross earlier on February 2, 2024, using what looked to be scratched cards following the streamer’s $120,000 loss on a gamble. Adin Ross realized that Savage had conned him after examining the backs of the cards from the deck that Savage and he had played with.
However, 21 Savage denied knowing before the event that the cards were marked. Adin Ross showed the rapper the marked cards, then addressed the chat and said: “Listen, I’ma be honest chat, they’re not his cards. I know he’s not gonna do that to me.”
The two decided to play NBA 2K so that the streamer could try to get his money back. Later, Savage paid Ross $250,000, although some fans believe it was a publicity stunt as the rapper started selling dice and cards on his website.
A keen-eyed fan discovered Savage’s official website offered $15 decks of cards and branded dice for $25 each. A post by Our Generation Music that reported this prompted fans to gather in the Instagram post’s comments to ridicule the entire controversy on February 3, 2024.
One fan commented: “Lowkey feel like the whole “21 savage scamming” thing was a marketing scheme to make him look hard again since he’s kind of lost that image since working with drake.” One person wrote: “I’m fully convinced now. All internet beef is fake free marketing.” Another comment said: “I mean I ain’t buying that sh*t lmao decent marketing though.”
