Doja Cat Stuns With Wild Outfit & Full-Body Tattoos at Grammys

Doja Cat drew attention at the 2024 Grammy Awards with another strange outfit and fresh tattoos. The rapper attended the awards ceremony in Los Angeles on February 4, 2024, wearing a transparent dress that showed off her numerous tattoos.

The name of the Turkish-British fashion designer Dilara Findikoglu, who created Doja’s garment, was tattooed on her forehead. On her cheek, she had “Akermo,” a Swedish tattoo artist well-known for his famous clients in the entertainment and sports industries. There are two more visible tattoos: a sun on her throat and a cathedral over her chest. Doja’s dress was adjusted in a way to reveal a portion of her nipples.

The rapper did not win any of the three categories in which she was nominated: Best Rap Song, Best Melodic Rap Performance, and Best Pop Solo Performance.

Although it is unknown for sure, it is thought that the tattoos are temporary because Doja Cat shared a picture with none of the additional ink. Even though some odd designs might not be permanent, Doja already has a lot of ink after getting her first tattoo in 2022. She claimed that the big bat on her back, one of her most recent additions, was inspired by the concept of death.

She shared a screenshot explaining the meaning of bats with a photo of the tattoo, saying they “often represent death in the sense of letting go of the old and bringing in the new. They are symbols of transition, of initiation, and the start of a new beginning.”

There has been criticism towards several of Doja Cat’s tattoos, especially the one that features a scaled animal combined with female genitalia.

One X user expressed concern that Doja would draw inspiration from the Devil for her work, writing: “What’s the point of writing your music and creating something if it isn’t considered timeless?! I HOPE THAT THIS ALBUM has no demonic influence. If it does, not worth listening to. I said what I said. If you don’t like it, take your grievances to @god and @jesus.” Doja replied sarcastically: “Slay girl yas.”

Another commenter said: “I show up when it’s time for their soul to GO TO HELL. Now play on that @dojacat, the only person in a ritual putting demonic sh*t on my page.” Doja replied: “Honestly werk.”

The rapper is no stranger to making news on the red carpet. She wore a cat costume at the 2023 Met Gala.

In an interview with Vogue, Doja Cat went above and beyond with her outfit, acted like a cat, and meowed in response to every question.

Emma Chamberlain, the model, said to Doja: “Okay, so tell me all about this,” Doja replied: “Meow.” 

When questioned about the designer of her outfit and its source of inspiration, Doja meowed back a few more times in response.

Doja Cat is known to show up at events with odd looks. She gained attention earlier last year when she attended a Paris Fashion Week event with over 30,000 Swarovski crystals individually placed on her face and upper body and covered in red paint from head to toe.
