Sexyy Red’s energy doesn’t seem to be affected despite giving birth to her second child.
The rapper announced on Instagram that she gave birth on February 5, 2024. She recreated a viral meme of reality star Tiffany Pollard wearing sunglasses and waiting on her bed.
She posted a picture of herself wearing a hospital gown and wrote: “Me waitin to get discharged from the hospital so I can hit da block wit da guys.”
Fans expressed their excitement for her in the comments. One fan wrote: “You made pregnancy look like a breeze did a whole tour and everything!!” Another commenter said: “WE ARE NOW SEXY AUNTIESS !! Yesssirrrrrr the streets miss BIG SEXYY.”
Earlier this month, Sexyy Redd shared photos of her child’s father from a since-deleted pregnancy photoshoot on social media, breaking her silence regarding who he was. She called the unknown man her “bd” in the caption, even though his face was covered. From the same photo shoot, the native of St. Louis also posted solo shots.
This indicated a rapid change in her tone, considering that she had recently released the ‘Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad)’ song a month before. Sexyy has previously talked about how she attempted to cover up her pregnancy on the Moneybagg Yo and Drake tour.
The rapper was the newest cover star for Billboard, and as part of the rollout, she had a video interview with the magazine that was released on January 9, 2024. Red acknowledged during her pregnancy discussion that trying to cover up her baby bump hurt since she had to hold her stomach in while performing.
She said: “When nobody knew I was pregnant, I’d be in the back room like tryna suck my stomach in or wear clothes to show that I wasn’t pregnant. And I had to practice my breathing, like before I’d go on stage, I had to hold my stomach in and look at myself and be like, ‘Can they tell?’ Once, I just was like, okay, I can’t keep hiding it ’cause it hurt to just be on stage all day holding your stomach in, so I’m like, just forget about it.”
She continued saying: “I was pregnant on the Drake tour and the Moneybagg tour but nobody knew. People started suspecting it on the Drake tour because there was videos and pictures of me coming out. That’s the only reason I was hiding it because I just wanted me and my family and friends to know.”
Sexyy Red went on Instagram Live at the start of the year to provide some updates concerning her pregnancy and to confess that she was eager to get through it. She said: “I cannot wait to have this baby, OMG. It’s up!”
To Red’s amazement, her young son interrupted the live show, grinning, hugging, and expressing his love for his mom. She continued saying: “Y’all, I’m getting so thick in these streets. When I drop, I’ma be a hoe for real. The new Sexyy Red? Super thick, super pretty, get money, you know.”
Sexyy Red gained massive success in 2023, and her most significant breakthrough came from the Chief Keef-starring remix of ‘Bow Bow Bow (F My Baby Dad).’ Produced by Tay Keith and DJ Meech, the pair released an alternate version of her most recent single in December 2023. It was initially released as part of the extended edition of ‘Hood Hottest Princess.’
